The Zimbabweans who belong to a London based Free Zim Youth who heckled Nkosazana Zuma should be applauded including the Zimbabwean student who ambushed the South African ambassador to London Lindiwe Mabuza's visit to Oxford University. The Free Zim Youth have been granted audience with SADC South Africa should start feeling our wrath not for its quite diplomacy or that it has done nothing to help restore democracy in Zimbabwe i.e like switching off electricity that it supplies Zimbabwe through Eskom and forcing a free and fair election as what the majority of the activists call for including the Free Zim Youth. For a change I beg to differ and actual agree with South Africans that argue the situation in Zimbabwe is our problem and only us as Zimbabweans can solve it. If they feel that they are unwilling to help us we cannot push them let their conscience judge them, I will not even remind you that at the height of apartheid ANC campaigned worldwide to alienate the apartheid regime of PW Botha which aided in dismantling apartheid. South Africa should feel our wrath for oiling the very machinery that is used to suppress Zimbabweans. While we are fighting the enemy who is Mugabe not South Africa we feel revolted that our neighbour keeps proping the regime extending its lifespan on the political death bed that it lies. I have no qualms with South Africa's quiet diplomacy or whatever fancy name they want to call their complicity in human rights abuses in Zimbabwe. Its no secret that South Africa has benefited out of our misery, all of our losses have been their gain, the direct inward investment in South Africa increased tenfold between 2001 and 2004. You might argue that its expected for Africa's most industrialised nation, the flight of investors from Zimbabwe has catapulated South Africa on the forefront of African countries to invest in followed by Botswana, as a matter of fact the whole SADC region has gained from our demise. So to maintain the quest to be number one they turned a blind eye to Zimbabwe and Mugabe is human right atrocities and called it (sic) quiet diplomacy. When Zimbabwe was on the brink of being booted out of IMF, Mbeki gave Mugabe a soft loan of 1 billion South African Rands. Last year when the Harare asked Pretoria for the money many critics felt it was time for Mbeki to exert pressure on Mugabe's illegal regime but they gave him the money with no strings attached and even defended their right to do so arguing that if Zimbabwe collapses it will be them (South Africa) that suffers the most citing an already growing problem of refugees that jump the Zimbabwe/South Africa border to seek political asylum in South Africa. Also when the loan was given the murderous regime of Robert Mugabe had led an illegal move that destroyed the homes and livelyhoods of more than 2 million ordinary Zimbabweans under the guise of urban clean-up when in fact it was a political ploy to depopulate urban areas of MDC supporters who have been a bane for the Zanu-PF led regime after delevering defeat after defeat even if after the elections have been rigged. South Africa asked no questions and made no comment on Murambatsvina even after the publishing of Ms Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka's report on Murambatsvina that recommended amongst other things the prosecution of Mugabe the chief architect of Murambatsvina. It was either naivety or sheer stupidity on Pretoria to think that Harare was going to use the money to feed the hungry it was another shot in the arm to bolster the coffers of the state machinary that keeps the baying mob quiet. Zimbabwe has been experincing chronic shortages of fuel it was not an exception last year on the 18th of June when the tanks and the bulldozers rolled into Zimbabwe's shanty towns for a clean up yet Harare City Council could not collect garbage due to the same fuel shortage. You can clearly see that South Africa is busy proping up the illegal regime of Mugabe or benefiting from our misery as Zimbabweans. How quickly they have forgotten how they begged the world to isolate the South Africa at the height of apartheid. They see no similarities after all Mugabe and Winnie Mandela are heroes to South Africans, they refuse to admit that what Mugabe is doing is worse than apartheid if you ever get past the fact that its another blackman oppressing another blackman. So my ire at South Africa is not directed at the fact that they are doing nothing its their prerogative really its aimed at their hand in destroying Zimbabwe and their continued support of Mugabe financially as he tortures and imprison anyone that does not subcribe to his views.
